What is the International Vanguard of Counsellors?
	The International Vanguard of Counsellors is a web-based coalition developed by the NBCC International in 2004. The purpose of this coalition is to become a primary contact for counsellors throughout the world. The coalition is open to all interested members of the profession. Registration with the IVC is FREE and will provide users with up-to-date information on the field of Counselling throughout the world. It is open to all counsellors, but is designed specifically for those who are interested in counselling as it is practiced inside and outside of the United States.

	The IVC Goals		Registrant Benefits
	1. CONVENE a forum for present & future counselling leaders to share their knowledge, while creating long-term relationships; 2. COMMUNICATE the assets and barriers existing in the development of counselling in the home countries of IVC registrants; 3. CREATE mentor relationships that foster the success of future leaders counselling development; and 4. COLLECT a repository of theories, techniques, and new ideas toward the devlopment of culturally appropriate counselling.		1. A place to make connections with other international students and counsellor educators is provided; 2. Access to information about resources to help with class assignments, research, & practice is provided; 3. An opportunity to share expertise & receive feedback from other persons interested in the globalization of counselling is provided.
